Our Approach to Social Connection

At Ageing with Grace, we believe that no one should face the challenges of ageing alone. We are dedicated to addressing the pressing issue of social isolation and loneliness among older people. Our comprehensive approach includes a variety of programs and initiatives designed to foster connections, promote mental wellbeing and enhance the quality of life for our older community members.

Volunteers are the backbone of our efforts to combat social isolation and loneliness. Their dedication and compassion are essential to our mission.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme

Friendship. Connection. Community.

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a free national program funded by the Australian Government to support older people who may be experiencing social isolation or loneliness. Ageing with Grace proudly delivers this program across the ACT, New South Wales, Victoria, and the Northern Territory. Unlocking the Benefits of Technology for Older People

At Ageing with Grace, we believe everyone should feel confident and included in today’s digital world. We support older people in our community to learn how to use technology in ways that are meaningful to them, whether that’s staying in touch with loved ones, accessing services, or simply exploring something new.

Through Tech Buddy Program people can learn at their own pace one on one or in group settings, in a friendly and relaxed environment. There’s no pressure, just practical help, shared learning, and plenty of encouragement along the way.

Our volunteers are at the heart of this program, ensuring people feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and connecting with others.

If you are over 55 years of age and would like support to get more out of technology in your everyday life, please complete our enquiry form.

This program is supported by Good Things Australia through the Be Connected initiative, helping older Australians build the skills and confidence to stay connected in everyday life.

Friendship Circles

At Ageing with Grace, our Friendship Circles bring people together to share conversations, build connections, and enjoy a sense of belonging.

We know that meaningful social connection is essential to wellbeing. Our Friendship Circles are small, welcoming groups where older people can meet regularly in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether it’s having a chat, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time with others, there’s no pressure- just a friendly space to connect.

Our volunteers help create a warm and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable and valued. Many participants tell us it’s something they look forward to each week.

Everything we offer at Ageing with Grace is completely free of charge, and our Friendship Circles are no exception. We are proud to be part funded by Impact100 Sydney to deliver Friendship Circles across Greater Sydney, helping more older people stay socially connected and supported in their local communities.

If you are 65 years or over and would like to join a Friendship Circle, we’d love to hear from you. Simply complete our enquiry form and our team will be in touch.
